Huldibari Industries & Plantation Co. Limited tea garden encompass over 1130.30 hectares (out of Planted areas- 879.62) of land spread over the Dooars- region of North Bengal. The average garden yields are 16 lacs kgs of Tea yearly. This high achievement level has been made possible by the Division consistently improving the productivity of land, manpower and equipment in an integrated manner.
There’s a lot of literature out there on tea and heart health. “This is a health effect for which there is the strongest evidence.” In fact, a study published earlier this year that combined data from a host of earlier reports found a nearly 20 percent reduction in the risk of heart attack and a 35 percent reduced risk of stroke among those who drank one to three cups of green tea a day. Those who drank four or more cups of green tea daily had a 32 percent reduction in the risk of having a heart attack and lower levels.
PRODUCTS
The high yields obtained by the Group in its tea estates have been possible through careful husbandry of its tea areas. Uprooting/replanting and rejuvenation of tea areas are carried out regularly, and planting is done with high yielding clones which have been propagated in the Company’s own nurseries.
Black Tea undergoes a full fermentation process composed of six basic steps: withering, rolling, sorting, fermenting, firing (or drying) and grading. Roll breaking cracks the surface of the leaf exposing the leaf's enzymes to air initiating oxidation. Oxidation is the process that results in the flavor profiles of Oolong and Black tea, which is often full-bodied and robust. Although it contains the highest amount of caffeine compared to the other tea types, it is still well below the amount found in coffee or sodas.
Group gardens in the Dooars have created a niche for themselves with their full bodied CTC liquors and are strongly competed for.
